UPPER EAST SIDE APARTMENT

NEW YORK, NY

When our clients returned to NYC to be closer to their grown children, they took refuge in this calm, comfortable, and quiet home. Perched on a high floor, the apartment provides wraparound views, ample light and a serene environment, while maintaining a connection to the energy of the city. Located in a new building by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the essence of the original design was preserved yet tailored to accommodate our clients' lifestyle. We kept the kitchen, bathrooms and the layout mostly intact, layering and seamlessly integrating architectural and decorative lighting and bespoke millwork throughout. The primary bedroom suite was enlarged by creating a pass-through closet to a secondary dressing and sitting room. A neutral palette was utilized throughout, from the bleached white oak cabinetry to the furniture and textiles, creating an ambiance of timeless sophistication and understated luxury.
