TRIBECA LOFT
NEW YORK, NY
Nothing about this Tribeca loft is typical. When the adjacent unit went up for sale, the client jumped at the opportunity to expand their living space. Inspired by the nearby Greenwich Hotel, they dreamed of creating a space that could be the hotel’s sprawling penthouse suite. The resulting space has a luxury boutique hospitality feel, with industrial and historic NYC loft elements to honor the building’s past life as a warehouse. Equally important to the client was to create a home with open sight lines and ample space to display their collection of artwork and artifacts- an homage to their father’s home which served as a gallery of rare art and objects. Bringing this vision to life, every aspect of the loft was treated as a design opportunity. Working closely with local vendors and artisans, the home includes custom wood flooring with inlay details, a custom metal, glass and millwork kitchen with handmade hardware, custom steel, glass and wood partitions and doors, custom stone sinks, specialty paint and plaster, a tunable faux skylight, and extensive custom millwork.
